Enterprise Holdings rolls out self-service rental kiosks

Enterprise Holdings said on Oct. 2 that it is bringing touch-screen rental kiosks to the "top 50" airport locations in the U.S. across its Alamo Rent A Car, Enterprise Rent-A-Car and National Car Rental brands.

The kiosks are designed to let customers bypass the rental counter and begin transactions for both reserved and walk-up rentals using a valid driver’s license and major credit card.

At the machines, customers can review rental details, change car class, add additional drivers and buy options including GPS navigation units and child car seats.

"The feedback we’re getting so far is that this option really improves the rental experience for our airport customers, both domestic and international", said Rob Hibbard, VP of airport business development for Enterprise Holdings.

The kiosks also include multilingual displays, offering customers a choice of English, French, Spanish, German, Italian or Portuguese.

For Alamo and National, the rollout updates machines already in use at their locations. For Enterprise Rent-A-Car, the self-service check-in process is being introduced to its airport customers for the first time.

while Enterprise initially launched self service check-in kiosks in 2012 this release is set to improve the experience even further.

For new and smaller operators looking to improve their car rental operators with self service pickup, CEO and Founder of Lockii Bodhi Hawken said “Legacy rental shops continuing to improve self service is all the more reason for smaller operators to adopt this technology and beat the big players at their own game with amazing technology from providers like us and or even our competitors, its never been a better time to innovate on customer experience”.
